Nose: Sherry soaked oak, burnt orange, fig paste, vanilla, white flowers. Blueberries, strawberry conserve, pepper. Some flintiness and incense. Elegant. Water makes the nose more floral-wildflowers.
Palate: Sherry, fermented strawberries & blueberries, some pepper and nutmeg. Ginger bread, brandy snaps, oak, fried bananas and pineapple. The touch of flintiness, roasted chestnuts. Water adds dried fruits of mango, papaya and pears. Medium bodied.
Finish: Orange jus, roasted chestnuts, nutmeg, strawberry conserve. Water then adds the dried fruits of mango, papaya and pears back in and the finish becomes very lengthy!
Last Word: Artful work by the blender. A beautifully balanced and nuanced whisky that is even better with a little water added.
